Here’s how to prep and coat a concrete, marble or epoxy terrazzo floor with Simix Ceramic Floor Coating using the IPC Eagle 600 RPM auto scrubber.

STRIP THE FLOOR

  1. You need to strip the floor thoroughly. This is the last time you will ever strip. Make sure you get all the old coating off.

POLISH

  1. Switch to clean 200 discs on your autoscrubber.
  2. Put one small scoop of Simix Degreaser powder per gallon into the auto scrubber.
  3. Go over the floor with full pressure and full water at medium speed.
  4. Make at least four passes. Make sure you go over the same area in the reverse direction at least twice.
  5. Pick up on the last pass.
  6. Mix one small scoop of Simix Kitchen Degreaser per 5 gallons of water in autoscrubber.
  7. Put 800 diamond burnishing pad on your autoscrubber.
  8. Scrub the floors at high water, high pressure, and medium speed with the gate up.
  9. Make at least four passes until the floor is smooth. Make sure you go over the same area in the reverse direction at least twice.
  10. Make one more pass with the gate down and pick up residue.
  11. Put a 3000 diamond burnishing pad on your auto scrubber.
  12. Make at least 4 passes until the floor is smooth. Make sure you go over the same area in the reverse direction at least twice.
  13. Scrub the floors at high water, high pressure, and medium speed with the gate up.
  14. Make one more pass with the gate down and pick up residue.

RINSE

  1. Do a final rinse with a red pad. Make two passes.

CHECK YOUR WORK

  1. Go over the floors with clean damp mop.
  2. Let floors dry.
  3. Make absolutely sure there is no floor finish residue.

COAT THE FLOOR

  1. First, clean your flat applicator mop. Remember that new mops are not clean. They are treated with chemicals that must be rinsed off in a clean mop bucket with hot water and a small scoop of Simix.
  2. Shake the bottle of Simix Ceramic Floor Coating.
  3. Mix 4 parts water to 1 part coating in a pump-up sprayer.
  4. Spray thin layer of coating on floor while a second person spreads the coating with the mop.
  5. Allow the floors to visibly dry before applying the next coat.
  6. While the coat is drying, rinse the microfiber mop heads in warm, clean water. Wring them dry.
  7. Apply three more coats using the same method.

POLISH

  1. Wait 20 minutes after the last coat.
  2. Then, polish with a 3000 grit diamond pad on a propane burnisher.
