How to Clean Brick Pavers
and Concrete Pavers
Brick pavers and concrete pavers are a popular choice for patios, walkways and driveways. Homeowners like them because they are easy to repair, look good, are low maintenance, and are affordable.
You can pick up brick and concrete pavers at Menard’s, Home Depot, and thousands of other home improvement stores across the country. And the interlocking nature of brick and concrete pavers make it easy for a novice to lay them out in an attractive pattern.
But brick and concrete pavers can be hard to clean. Pavers can absorb oil, mold, and other stains. Stains and dirt on just a couple pavers can make the entire patio, driveway or walkway look less attractive.
So, how do you clean brick pavers or concrete pavers? Simix makes cleaning pavers easy.
Simix contains titanium dioxide, which interacts with ultraviolet (UV) light to break down oil, mold and debris stuck on your pavers. Thus, we recommend that you use Simix Multi-Surface Cleaner on a hot day when you can harness the sun’s natural energy.
CLEAN SURFACE DEBRIS OFF PAVERS
First, you should clean the surface of debris with an outdoor broom or hard brush. You can also use a leaf blower to clean debris off pavers, but we recommend brushes or brooms because they can remove dirt and mold that are clinging to the surface.
SOAK PAVERS WITH SIMIX
Next, you soak the pavers with Simix Multi-Surface Cleaner using a pump-up or backpack sprayer. (If you don't have a sprayer, you can use a bucket.) Simix is ideal for patios, driveways and sidewalks because it will not hurt grass, plants or pets.
Mix Simix Multi-Surface Cleaner at a rate of 1 large scoop per 4 gallons of water. Hot water is best, but we know that most homeowners will be using a nice cold garden hose and that’s fine too.
Once you’ve dissolved Simix Multi-Surface Cleaner in water, soak the entire surface you want cleaned. Let Simix dwell for 20 minutes.
RINSE OFF THE CLEANER
Next, you should rinse off the cleaner with a garden hose or power washer.
